DIY Leather Fringe Bib Necklace with Deerskin Leather Lace

Try out this fun DIY bib necklace with deerskin lace fringe and Black Gold Amazonite large-hole gemstone beads from our Deerskin Lace March 2018 Trend.

Exceptionally strong, yet soft and supple, Deerskin Lace is expertly cut from only the finest North American deer hides. Great for all your jewelry and beading projects or for garment lacing. Deerskin Lace is the softest leather lace around.

Directions:

  1. Cut 7 pieces of leather lace at 10 inches.
  2. Cut 6 pieces of leather lace at 7 inches.
  3. Take a 7″ leather and make a lark’s head knot on the bottom bar of the bib necklace. Repeat 2 more times.
  4. Make a lark’s head knot with the 10″ leather, 7 times.
  5. Make a lark’s head knot with the 7″ leather, 3 times.
  6. Slide a gemstone to the middle strand of your leather fringes and make a knot. Repeat outwards, staggering your knots so that your fringes get shorter and shorter. Make sure your knots are where you’d want them to be and then cut off excess leather.
  7. Tie one end of the chain with the side hole of your bib connector with a 3″ piece of leather, twice. Repeat to other side.
  8. Optional, you can cut chain in half to add a clasp. Or cut chain shorter for a shorter length.

DIY Jagged Dagger Bracelet with Cymbal Alona Bead Ending

Today’s tutorial for the Jagged Dagger Bracelet happens to come with a FREE pattern tutorial. This bracelet consists of 6mm two-hole Czech bar beads, mini daggers and 11/0 round seed beads, stitched along with Cymbal Alona Bead Ending components!

Tassel Earrings with TierraCast® Findings and Miyuki Seed Beads

Our tutorial today features some trendy tassel earrings made with seed beads. You may recall our previous blog post on Beaded Tassel Tutorial. Today’s project will use that tutorial along with multiple colors of seed beads and beautiful TierraCast pieces.

What you’ll need:

  • Size 11/0 seed beads. We used 3 different colors in our sample:
    • SB00423, which will pair with the gold TierraCast finding. You can also use SB00422 and silver TierraCast finding.
    • Cream color: SB00444
    • Color seed bead: SB00447 You can also swap this color!

Directions (Refer to Beaded Tassel Tutorial for example visuals):

  1. Make a wrapped loop to a 3 inch piece of wire. OR if you’re using an eyepin, coil the eyepin loop.
  2. Starting with 4 feet of thread, create a stopper bead on your thread leaving a 4-6 inch tail.
  3. Sew through the wire loop.
  4. Pick up the following bead sequence
    1. 20 cream seed bead
    2. Wine bead, cream bead, 2 wine bead, cream bead, 3 wine bead, cream bead
    3. 10 wine bead
    4. gold bead, wine bead, 2 gold bead, wine bead, 3 gold bead, wine bead
    5. 8 gold bead.
  5. Skip the last bead and sew back up through all the beads you’ve sewn and through wire loop. Don’t pull to hard, you want your fringe to hang loose.
  6. Repeat step 4 and 5 another 7 more times for a total of 8 tassel fringes.
  7. Tie thread ends together, securing it with a small dot of Super New Glue.
  8. Slide wire through cone and pick up 4mm round bead (pearl) and cream seed bead. Make a simple or wrapped loop.
  9. Open earwire and add tassel dangle.
  10. Repeat all steps for other earring.




DIY Golden Feather Hoop Earrings

We love a good statement earring. Especially one with fun components and feather charms!

What you’ll need for earrings:

  • 20mm Gold 7 Ring Chandelier Lever Earlier – A010234
  • 23mm Antique Gold Small Feather Charm by TierraCast – TC01366 (4)
  • 35mm Satin Gold Feather Charm – Z016357 (4)
  • 51mm Satin Gold Large Wispy Feather Charm – Z015964 (2)
  • 3mm Gold Plated Ladder Chain – CH00523
  • 4mm Antique Gold Plated Oval Cable Chain – CH00021
  • 5mm Gold Plated 21 Gauge Oval Jump Rings – A008801

GoodyBeads Blog - FREE Tutorial for DIY Golden Feather Earrings.

Directions:

  1. Cut ladder chain to consist of 8 links. Cut a total of 4 pieces.
  2. Cut oval chain to consist of 18 links. Cut a total of 4 pieces.
  3. Open jump ring, slide on small feather charm, a piece of ladder chain and through first loop of chandelier earrings. Close jump ring.
  4. Open another jump ring, slide in medium feather charm and slide through second loop of chandelier. Close jump ring.
  5. Open another jump ring, slide on a piece of oval chain and through third loop of chandelier. Close jump ring.
  6. Open another jump ring, slide on large feather and through fourth loop of chandelier. Close jump ring.
  7. Repeat step 5 and attach to fifth loop of chandelier.
  8. Repeat step 4 and attach to sixth loop of chandelier.
  9. Repeat step 3 and attach to last loop of chandelier.

As an alternative, you can make a silver version with these silver-like components: A010233, TC00041 (4), Z016356 (4), Z015963 (2), CH00524, CH00020, A008799.




Dot & Dash Fringe Earrings

Today’s tutorial is a revision of popular DIY Golden Fringe Earrings we did a few weeks back. Our Dot & Dash Fringe Earrings is on another level of gorgeous!

What you’ll need for earrings: (Silver alternative available)

Directions:

  1. Cut chain at these lengths and alternate the dots and dashes
    7 inches – Dash at beginning and end
    6 ¼ inches – dot at beginning and end
    5 ¾ inches – dash at beginning and end
    5 inches – dot at beginning and end
    4 ½ inches – dash at beginning and end
    3 7/8 inches – dot at beginning and end
    1 ½ inches – dash at beginning and end
    1 ½ inches – dot at beginning and end
    1 ¾ inches – dash at beginning, dot at end
    1 ¾ inches – dot at beginning, dash at end
    1 ¾ inches – dash at beginning, dot at end
    1 ½ inches – dot at beginning and end
    1 ½ inches – dash at beginning and end
  2. Slide what you’ve cut in Step 1, in the same sequence through the slide end tube.
  3. Slide the end of 3 7/8 inches through end tube.
  4. Slide the end of 4 ½ inches through end tube.
  5. Slide the end of 5 inches through end tube.
  6. Slide the end of 5 ¾ inches through end tube.
  7. Slide the end of 6 ¼ inches through end tube.
  8. Slide the end of 7 inches through end tube.
  9. Close side tab of end tube with a flat edge, like pliers.
  10. Open jump ring and slide on loop of end tube and ear wire loop. Close jump ring.
  11. Repeat all steps for other earring.




DIY Golden Fringe Earrings with Ball Chain

Let’s celebrate and toast to 2019 and welcome 2020! We have the perfect pair of earrings to celebrate the glam with this DIY Golden Fringe Earrings. Designed with ball chain and end tubes, you can whip up this pair of easy earrings before the ball drops!

What you’ll need:

Directions:

  1. Cut chain with the following ball counts: 17, 23, 25, 31, and 35. Cut a quantity fo two each.
  2. Slide the following chain into the tube by hooking one ball inside the tube: 17, 23, 25, 31, 35, 35, 31, 25, 23, 17.
  3. Close the other side of the end tube with a flat nose.
  4. Open jump ring and slide on loop of earwire and loop of end tube. Close jump ring.
  5. Repeat all steps for other earring.

  1. Open jump ring, slide on an acetate pendant and through one of the three loops of chandelier component. Close jump ring.
  2. Repeat Step 1, TWO more times for other chandelier loops.
  3. Open ear wire loop and slide on top loop of chandelier component. Close loop.
  4. Repeat all steps for other earring.
