Items used in bracelets: A014097A021634A021914A021930A021929

Directions:

  1. Cut a 10″ piece of elastic. Stretch elastic to loosen the elasticity.
  2. Slide on the elastic the curve tube and 40 melon beads. (40 beads will loosely fit a 6.5″ wrist size. So add more melon beads to adjust to your sizing.)
  3. Make a Surgeon’s Knot to your elastic ends. Gently stretch elastic to tighten the knot.
Step 5B: Illustrated look at the surgeon's knot.
  4. Cut off excess elastic and slide knot inside curve tube if you can.
Optional: You can add a small spot of Super New Glue or Hypo Cement to the knot.
  5. Repeat for MORE bracelets!

    1. Are the 3mm tubes wide enough for the knot to be hidden inside? I actually want to use a 2mm tube instead. Do you think the knot can be hidden inside a 2mm tube? I have never worked with stretch cord so I am trying to determine exactly what will and won’t work.

      1. Yes, the 3mm tube will hide your knot; however, the 2mm might hide the knot. This depends on the thickness of the elastic you’ll be using and if you’re using the .5mm elastic, the knot should be able to hide in your tube.

  1. Is the Elasticity product pretty strong and resilient? I want something that will hold up to normal wear.

  2. Hi, I have a question. I am trying to make this bracelet. The beads are strung and I am trying to tie the knot to finish the bracelet. No matter what I do, the knot won’t stay tied. The Elasticity is too slick and won’t stay tied no matter what type of knot I tie. What do I do?

    1. Hello Beth. First, remember to stretch your elastic before stringing on your beads. You will make a surgeon’s knot. Take your two elastic ends, tie left over right and through the loop. Pull to cinch your beads close enough together. Then take your elastic and tie right over left. The right end will loop twice around the left. Pull to cinch the knot tight.
