Today’s DIY Gemstone Donut and Deerskin Necklace features three of our favorite brands. Dakota Stones gemstone donuts, LeatherCord USA deerskin lace and TierraCast barrel bead.
Cut deerskin lace in half (if you’re using the 2 meter product item) or cut 3.5 feet of lace.
Fold lace in half and slide through gemstone donut and make a lark’s head knot. Make sure the front side of the lace is facing outwards and evening out your lace ends.
Slide barrel beads through both lace ends and slide to sit on top of lark’s head knot.
Make an overhand knot to both of your lace end to complete your necklace.
DIY Flower Blossom Necklace
Spring is here and flowers are blooming! So we have this sweet DIY flower blossom necklace.
Open jump ring, slide on tassel and eyepin loop. Close jump ring.
On eyepin, slide on pearl bead and make a simple loop.
Open another jump ring, slide on loop you made in step 2, and another loop of eyepin. Close jump ring.
On eyepin you added, slide on gold round bead, flower lampwork and another gold round bead. Make a simple loop.
Open loop you made in step 4 and slide on loop of bail. Close loop.
Unhook necklace clasp and slide necklace chain through bail.

Austria Inspired DIY Jewelry
Using a variation of round and bicone beads in the three colors, we made a chain link necklace by making wrapped loop links. Refer to our Wire Wrapped blog post on a visual tutorial.
Make a wrapped loop to one end of a 2-3 inch piece of wire. Slide on a seed bead, crystal and seed bead. Make another wrapped loop.
Create another wrapped loop while sliding on link you made in step 1 before completing the loop. Slide on a seed bead, crystal and seed bead. Make another wrapped loop.
Repeat step 2 with various different of crystals to create 7-10 links. With the last link wrapped loop, slide on the diamond link before completing the wrapped loop.
Make next set of wrapped beaded links, linking the diamond link in Step 3.
Repeat to your desired length. We made a length of 28 inches.
Open jump ring of the bracelet sliding clasp and link each end of your beaded links to clasp.
As an alternative, you can use 20 gauge wire and make simple loops to create your beaded links.
Slide end cap to one end of the chain and crimp end cap. Repeat to other end of chain and end cap.
Open eyepin loop, slide on loop of one end cap and close loop. On eyepin, slide on a 4mm crystal and make a simple loop. Open loop and slide on quick link and close loop.
Open another eyepin loop and slide on other end cap and close loop. One eyepin, slide on 4mm crystal, metal bead and 4mm crystal. Make a simple loop.
On a headpin, slide on a 6mm crystal and 4mm crystal. Make a simple loop. Open loop and slide on loop you made in step 3. Close loop.

Start with 1 meter of leather or about 39 inches of leather.
Fold leather in half and make an other hand knot at the folded part to create a 1/2 inch loop.
On one leather cord, slide on FOUR 8mm gemstone.
Make an overhand knot at the end of this leather cord.
Slide one gemstone down to the knot and make another overhand knot after this gemstone bead, sandwiching the bead between two knots.
On the other leather cord, slide on a 10mm gemstone and a 8mm gemstone.
Make an overhand knot an inch shorter than the knot you made in step 3-1.
Slide 8mm gemstone down to the knot and make another overhand knot after this gemstone bead, sandwiching the bead between two knots.
Done! To wear, slide both gemstone knotted ends through the leather loop, one at a time.
DIY Lariat Necklace with Terra Agate Gemstone & Leather
We’re still seeing lariat necklaces everywhere and it certainly will trend for a while because of it’s organic look! You wear it long or short, depending on how you dress it. In our DIY project today, is a lariat necklace using 1mm leather cord, brass beads and some gorgeous Terra Agate gemstones!
Start with 2 meters of leather cord. Fold in half and at the loop, make a lark’s head knot through the Organic Hoop.
On both leather cords, slide on a gold bead, Terra Agate bead and another gold bead.
Make an overhand knot with both leather cords close to the last gold bead.
Wrap your piece around your neck to determine where you would like the lariat gemstone dangle to hang from and the length of your necklace. Make an overhand knot there.
Slide on both leather cords another gold bead, Terra Agate bead and gold bead. Make an overhand knot close to the last gold bead you added.
On one leather cord end, slide on 3 gold beads and make an overhand knot about 2 inches below the Terra Agate bead. Cut off excess.
On the other leather cord end, slide on 3 gold beads and make an overhand knot about 1.5 inches below the Terre Agate bead. Cut off excess.
Slide pinch bail over hole of wood/resin pendant and pinch it close.
With two pliers, open jump ring, slide on bail and slide through both jump rings of adjustable rollo chain necklace. Close jump ring.
You’re done!
Black Gold Amazonite Tassel Necklace with Beading Chain
We’re designing today’s October project with Black Gold Amazonite double drilled gemstones from Dakota Stones and our popular beading chain. Here is what you’ll need to create your own!
Your choice of clasp (Clasp used in example: A021129)
Swarovski Aquamarine Shimmer Round Crystal – 4mm SW02034 (12), 6mm SW02035 (8), 8mm SW02036 (6)
Add more crystals for more sparkle!
Directions:
Cut beading wire at 18″, 20″, 22″ and 24″ long
Flush all pieces of wire at one end and slide all ends in the end cap. Crimp the end cap.
On each wire, slide on sequences of crimp tube, crystal and crimp tube. Crimp the crimp tubes on both sides of the crystal. Space out the sequences of beads throughout your strands.
Once you have all your crystals crimp down, flush the other ends of your beading thread, slide another end cap over it and crimp the end cap.
Attach your clasp to the end of your end caps with jump ring.
Golden Leaf Pendant Necklace
We’re still in a fall mood. The color of fallen leaves and the smell of autumn in the air really makes you want to just sit and take a hot chocolate break all the time. Our project today is dedicated to autumn leaves and how golden and magical it looks outside.
Open small jump ring, slide on on end of the chain and slide on a jump ring on the bracelet sliding clasp. Close jump ring.
Repeat Step 2 to other end.
Chevron Chain Necklace
Chevron is one of those trendy shapes that probably won’t ever go out of style. And with our chevron chain, you can easily make this stunning silver chevron chain necklace.
Cut chevron chain to 3 inches or 18 links. Cut 3 pieces.
Open 3mm jump ring, slide on dagger charm, close jump ring.
Open another 3mm jump ring, slide through jump ring in Step 2 and through pointed loop on one of your chevron chain. Close jump ring.
Open 5mm jump ring, slide through other loop of your chain in Step 3 and through Hammer Ring. Close jump ring.
Open another 5mm jump ring, slide through hammer ring and close jump ring.
Open another 5mm jump ring, slide through jump ring step 5 and close jump ring.
Open a 3mm jump ring, slide through pointed loop on your second chevron chain and close jump ring. Repeat for the third chain.
Open a 5mm jump ring, side through a 3mm jump ring in step 7 and through 5mm jump ring in step 6. Close jump ring.
Repeat Step 8 with third chain.
Open jump ring loop on adjustable necklace chain and slide through other end of the second chevron chain. Close jump ring.
Repeat Step 10 with other end of adjustable necklace chain and third chevron chain.
DIY Pendant Necklace with Layered Crescent Connectors

Directions:
Open jump ring and slide on small crescent and through hole of concave side on the medium crescent charm. Close jump ring.
Open another jump ring, slide on other hole of medium crescent charm and through hole of concave side on large crescent charm. Close jump ring.
Open another jump ring, slide on other hole of large crescent charm and close jump ring.
Slide your 3 feet of chain through jump ring from step 3.
Use another jump ring to link both your chain ends together. Note: Adjust necklace length to your preference by cutting off excess chain. For a short length of necklace, use a clasp to attach the chain ends.
