Directions:

  1. Set the crystal in its setting and gently bend the prongs down to secure the crystal. (Check out Light Topaz blog post on how to press down the prongs.) Repeat to all 5 crystals and settings.
  2. Cut two pieces of memory wire at a coil and a quarter.
  3. Roll and make a simple loop to each end of the memory wire with memory wire finishing pliers.
  4. Slide on a seed bead on each memory wire. Slide each square bead hole through each memory wire. Repeat this process 7 more times. End this portion with a seed bead to each memory wire.
  5. Slide on small setting you made in Step 1, slide each memory wire through the two-hole setting. Slide on a seed bead to each memory. Repeat adding a medium setting, seed bead, large setting, seed bead, medium setting, seed bead and small setting.
  6. Repeat Step 4.
  7. Cut excess wire with memory wire cutters, leaving about a 3/4 inch end and make a simple loop.

Red Currant Road Bracelet

Items used in Bracelet: SW02559 (24), SW02635 (5), TC02648 (5), TC01870, TL00265, A011531, Z012973 & Z001065.

Directions:

  1. Using alcohol wipes clean all off the links and set aside to dry.
  2. Using one 10mm Scarlet fancy stone glue into matching finding. Repeat four more times and set aside to dry for 24 hours.
  3. Using one head pin slide on one 6mm Rouge Pearl and make a simple loop. Repeat 23 more times and set aside.
  4. Using two 5mm jump rings attach each jump ring separately to the same side of one frame made in Step 2 (double jump ringing). Use two more 5mm jump rings to attach to the opposite side. Repeat this step four more times and set aside.
  5. Using two 9mm jump rings, connect together two links made in Step 4 so that it is double jump ringed. Continue this process until all five stone set links are connected.
  6. Using three pearl drops, attach to one side of the double medium jump ring connection between stone set links. Repeat for opposite side of the two 9mm jump ring connection. Repeat this step until you have 4 complete sets of 6 pearls between all 5 stone set links.
  7. Using one end of the Maker’s toggle attach two small jump rings by attaching each jump ring separately to the same side of the toggle (double jump ringing). Repeat for other side of the toggle piece.
  8. To attach the toggles to the ends of the bracelet use two medium jump rings to attach the double jump rings from the bracelet to the toggle. Repeat for the other side.

Swarovski® Create Your Own Style: Trio of Opulent Earrings

Our blog post today consists of three projects in one, using some of Swarovski’s newest pearl shapes! We are really loving these new shapes because they look organic with fun depths to them. Here are three pair of earrings pair the new pearls with some fitting TierraCast components.

Opulent Earrings #1

Items used in earrings: SW02568 (2), SW01454 (4), TC02572 (2), TC02568 & A019612.

Directions:

  1. Open eyepin loop, slide on TierraCast charm and close loop.
  2. Slide the following on the eyepin and make a simple loop:
    crystal, pearl and crystal.
  3. Open dangle loop and slide on earwire loop and close loop.
  4. Repeat all steps for other earring.

Opulent Earrings #2

Directions:

  1. Slide the following on to the headpin and make a simple loop:
    Opulent bead, crystal, pearl and crystal.
  2. Open ear wire loop, slide on pearl dangle and close loop.
  3. Repeat all steps for other earring.

Directions:

  1. Slide a crystal bead onto a headpin and make a simple loop. Repeat to all crystal beads for a total of 24.
  2. Open oval jump ring and slide on a crystal dangle you made in Step 1. Close jump ring. Repeat for all 24 crystal dangle.
  3. Cut suede to the length of your bracelet/wrist length minus and inch.
  4. At one end of the suede, lay end inside the crimp. Fold and crimp the sides to secure suede end.
  5. Slide the following beads on the suede:
    Spacer bead and 3 bead dangles (through oval jump ring).
    Repeat this sequence another 7 more times.
    End with another spacer bead.
  6. Fold over the crimp end to other suede end.
  7. Open 4mm jump ring, slide on a close ring and through one loop of crimp end. Close jump ring.
  8. Open another 4mm jump ring and slide on other crimp end loop. Close jump ring.
  9. Open another 4mm jump ring, slide through 4mm jump ring step 8 and through lobster claw loop. Close jump ring.
  10. Spread out your spacer beads to center your beads.
    NOTE: if you find that you need more beads, you can add more crystals and spacers to your liking.

Starting as underwater volcanoes which then surfaced over thousands and thousands of years, Costa Rica has evolved into one of the largest, lush ecosystems in the world. Imagine yourself rappelling down a waterfall, relaxing in hot springs, hiking along the rolling fog of the cloud forest or exploring the pink sandy beaches of the Guanacaste coastline.   4. Open earring wire loop and slide on on other eyepin loop. Close loop.

  8. Open 4mm round jump ring, slide on tassel and loop of another eyepin. Close jump ring.
  9. On eyepin, slide on the following and make a simple loop:
    seed bead, wood bead, seed bead, 6mm light siam bicone, seed bead, wood bead and seed bead.
  10. Open another eyepin loop and slide on loop you made in step 9. Close loop. Slide the eyepin a seed bead, wood bead and seed bead, and make a simple loop. Open loop and slide last hole of ethnic link. Close loop.

Austria may be one of Europe’s smallest countries, but it is also one of the most popular destinations in the world. Whether you’re traversing across its drawbridges or hiking up the Alps, the region’s roaring waters and crisp mountain air will greet you as if you were home. The inspiration of these pieces is derived from a multitude of Austria’s most iconic wonders — deep valleys, vast farmland, whimsical woodlands, raging rivers, and of course, its majestic mountains.

Swarovski Create Your Style, has selected three colors to depict the majestic sites of Austria:

Austria Inspired DIY Jewelry

Using a variation of round and bicone beads in the three colors, we made a chain link necklace by making wrapped loop links. Refer to our Wire Wrapped blog post on a visual tutorial.

What you’ll need:

Directions:

  1. Make a wrapped loop to one end of a 2-3 inch piece of wire. Slide on a seed bead, crystal and seed bead. Make another wrapped loop.
  2. Create another wrapped loop while sliding on link you made in step 1 before completing the loop. Slide on a seed bead, crystal and seed bead. Make another wrapped loop.
  3. Repeat step 2 with various different of crystals to create 7-10 links. With the last link wrapped loop, slide on the diamond link before completing the wrapped loop.
  4. Make next set of wrapped beaded links, linking the diamond link in Step 3.
  5. Repeat to your desired length. We made a length of 28 inches.
  6. Open jump ring of the bracelet sliding clasp and link each end of your beaded links to clasp.

As an alternative, you can use 20 gauge wire and make simple loops to create your beaded links.




Swarovski® Amethyst Jewelry Tutorials

We’ve got TWO easy projects using March’s Swarovski Psychology of Color: Amethyst. Design jewelry with this passionate hue!

Amethyst Wrap Bracelet

Items used in bracelet: SB00422, SW02206 (30), SW00084 (20), SW00081 (20), WR00127 & A014097

Directions:

  1. Make a simple loop to the end of your memory wire with Memory Wire Finishing Pliers.
  2. Slide on the following bead sections onto the memory wire:
    Seed bead, silver curve tube, seed bead, light amethyst crystal, seed bead, amethyst crystal, seed bead, 3 amethyst shimmer crystals, seed bead, amethyst crystal, seed bead and light amethyst crystal.
  3. Repeat this sequence 9 more times. Then end with a seed bead.
  4. Cut memory wire end leaving a 1/4″ end and make a simple loop.

Ombré Amethyst Earrings

Directions:

  1. On a headpin, slide on the following and make a simple or wrapped loop:

  2. Open earwire loop and slide on crystal dangle. Close loop.
  3. Repeat all steps for other earring.

DIY Statement Earrings with Swarovski Scarlet Crystals

Design a pair of DIY Statement Earrings with one our newest color addition in our Swarovski crystals: Scarlet. Scarlet is a cross between a Siam and Ruby color. It has a hint of a deep purple and the vibrance of red. Pair the hue with gold findings for a rich pair of earrings!

Directions:

  1. On a headpin, slide on a 4mm crystal and make a simple loop. Open loop and slide on one hole of brush gold disc. Close loop.
  2. Open an eyepin loop and other hole of brush gold disn. Close loop.
  3. On the eyepin, slide on 6mm crystal and through teardrop hoop from the inside and up. Make a simple loop. Open loop and slide on hole of half circle connector (curved side). Close loop.
  4. Open another eyepin loop and slide through other hole of half circle connector. Close loop.
  5. On eyepin, slide on 8mm crystal and make a simple loop.
  6. Open earwire loop, slide on loop you make in step 5 and close loop.
  7. Repeat all steps for other earring.

Fitting for the holiday season is making snowflake ornaments! Here’s our version using Ruby crystals, clear crystals and wavy discs.

Items used in ornament: SW00131 (12), SW00102 (12), SW00104 (6), Z018412, SB00423 & A006240

Directions:

  1. On a prong, slide on the following and make a simple loop with memory wire finishing pliers:
    1. 3 seed beads, 4mm crystal, disc, ruby crystal, disc, 8mm crystal, disc, ruby crystal, disc, 4mm crystal, 3 seed beads.
  2. Repeat the same sequence of beads to each prong.

Directions:

  1. Slide through the hoop:
    1. bead cap, 5 ruby crystals and bead cap.
  2. To the top of the last bead cap, add a small dot of glue. Let this dry for a few minutes to keep bead cap in place with the hoop earrings.
  3. Repeat all steps for other earring.

  2. On the eyepin, slide a seed bead, Ruby crystal, bead cap, 4mm black diamond crystal, and seed bead. Make simple loop.
  3. Open dangle loop and slide on post earring loop. Close loop.
  4. Repeat all steps for other earring.
